  1. Interesting. I agree with the author’s right to publish his book under the title he has chosen, whatever his motives. I have never thought of offense as merely “being” – as if if had an existence of its own – but only as being given and being taken. Today people such as our heroic author are very keen on giving offense, and even worse, people such as his intended fall guys are very keen on taking offense whenever it is offered. Are they in league?
